Cagliari, the streets of the city change face with the Global Service
A contract worth over 12 million euros
Cagliari, the streets of the city change face with the Global Service.
Will last three years and will have as its main objective that of intervening on the road network of Municipality of Cagliari, which comprises 600 kilometers of road network, 50 works of art e 40 kilometers of cycle paths.
A contract from 12,9 million euro thanks to which the streets of the Sardinian capital will be given a new look with the arrangement of pavements, horizontal signs and with the expansion of the contractors' skills to include city lifts. All accompanied by an emergency service, thanks to toll free 800 116 444 which guarantees the operation of the workers within twenty minutes from the report.
“There will be a whole series of important interventions that our fellow citizens are anxiously awaiting”, the first comment of Mayor Paolo Truzzu, which yesterday morning, Monday 13 February 2023, explained the details of the third contract related to Global Service.
“There was a need – added the mayor – to intervene in many points of the city, both regarding the streets and the sidewalks. And we will do so after a study phase entrusted to a particular vehicle that has been traveling around Cagliari in recent months to analyze the state of our roads, identifying the critical issues. Now, thanks to the data collected, we will be able to start by intervening from the most critical situations and the areas most frequented by motorists".
In addition to the interventions already identified, which will be launched based on the emergencies that have emerged, it will be possible to proceed based on the reports that arrive at the toll-free number and which can be merged into a transparent platform that will allow citizens to know the state of the art linked to the reports themselves .
They also participated in the press conference to present the Global Service the Councilor for Mobility, Alessio Mereu, the member of the Mobility Council Commission, Marcello Piras, the Director of the Mobility Service, Daniele Olla and for the AVR, Claudio Nardecchia.
“Positive – the comment of Councilor Mereu – is the fact that the contract was awarded to the same person who already had it previously, because this allows him to have greater knowledge of the city and more effective methods of intervention. In three and a half years we paved about 40 kilometers of roads, but there is still much to do. We believe, however, that we can intervene where there is greater need and then expand the activity to the rest of the city."
Among the innovations of the new contract are not only the fact that the fee will be recognized only on the basis of the objectives achieved and the quality of the work carried out, but also the transfer of claims management from the Administration to the contractor.
