Brescia, welcome for the Mayor of Darmstadt, the German city twinned with Leonessa

Brescia, Thursday 23 and Friday 24 July Brescia welcomes the Mayor of Darmstadt, the German city twinned with Leonessa which has shown great attention and solidarity towards of Brescia during the Covid-19 emergency period.

Since the first days of March, Mayor Jochen Partsch has shown himself to be very sensitive to what was happening in our city and has followed the evolution of the health situation in Brescia on a daily basis, sending a supply of complete protective equipment for the healthcare personnel of the areas triage of the Civil Hospitals, making beds available in the intensive care units of Hesse and opening a solidarity fund among its fellow citizens, the amount of which was transferred to “SUPPORT Brescia”.

On July 23rd and 24th the mayor of Darmstadt will be in Brescia for a discussion with the Mayor Emilio del Bono on the critical issues that have emerged in recent months, with particular attention to the role of local authorities in emergency management. The visit program also includes meetings with public institutions, with health facilities present in the city area and with representatives of the economic realities of Brescia, hard hit by the pandemic.
There will be no shortage of moments of entertainment and visits to the city's cultural heritage in Mayor Partsch's Brescia program.

“I am truly grateful to Mayor Partsch for deciding to visit us,” Del Bono said. “I will thus finally have the opportunity to thank him in person and show our gratitude towards his fellow citizens, who supported Brescia in a concrete way during a period of great pain and difficulty. The invaluable help they gave to our city came at a time of extreme need. I am sure that, even more than in the past, the experience of this global crisis will strengthen the collaboration between the twin cities on the various issues of local community management".
