Brescia, the markets reopen with new rules
Brescia, starting from Tuesday 16 June the new rules for the opening of the local markets, the Coldiretti market and the farmers' market come into force, which take into account the recent provisions issued by the Lombardy Region.
In each market there will be supervisory staff (volunteers appointed by the Municipality or trade associations) so as to avoid overcrowding in the market area and ensure social distancing. Access must take place in an orderly manner to avoid gatherings of people and users must remain at least one meter away from each other. Exceptions are made to members of the same family unit, people living together or those who are not subject to interpersonal distancing according to the provisions in force. Everyone will be held individually responsible for respecting interpersonal distancing. Information signs will be placed in Italian and English to warn customers about the correct behavior to follow. Each user must wear a mask or other protection, as required by the regional ordinance.
Shopkeepers will be obliged to wear disposable gloves, will have to use a mask to cover the nose and mouth and will have to make suitable hydroalcoholic solutions available to customers for hand disinfection, particularly near the checkouts, and disposable gloves.
The operators of two adjacent desks must unequivocally prevent access to the spaces between one desk and the other.
Sales equipment, counters and self-service shops must be placed at a distance of at least two meters at the side and at least four meters in front, between one row of counters and another. To allow this separation, each operator will have to reduce their bench by one meter laterally and by 50 centimeters in depth.
Each seller must organize themselves in such a way as to avoid gatherings of people waiting to access the point of sale and an area must be identified in front of the counter in which to limit the maximum concentration of customers present at the same time, to allow compliance with the distance of one meter between one person and another.
If the customer intends to handle a product, he must first disinfect his hands or be provided with disposable gloves.
The sale of used goods is prohibited and ticking operations are suspended.
The market area must be cleared of people, things and waste by 14pm.
All these indications for access to markets must be considered additions to the social distancing and hygienic-behavioral recommendations for combating the epidemic in all contexts of social life.
In order to fully apply all health protection provisions, the Municipality of Brescia reserves the right to indicate the correct location or possible new positioning of the benches even in a new site.
