Brescia, two memoranda of understanding for environmental protection signed

Brescia, on Monday 8 June the Municipality of Brescia signed, in via Marconi, a memorandum of understanding with the Civil Protection Association "Coda - Operational Center for Environmental Defense" for carrying out civil protection activities and protecting the environment from hydrogeological risk. Furthermore, the municipal administration has renewed the memorandum of understanding with the Association of Civil Protection Volunteers Paratroopers Onlus - Brescia office.

Present at the signing were the Councilor for the Environment Miriam Cominelli, the Councilor for Civil Protection Valter Muchetti, the president of the Coda Civil Protection Association Angelo Borboni, the president of the Association of Civil Protection Volunteers Parachutists Onlus of Brescia Fabrizio Tonelli, the manager of the environmental protection, greenery and sustainability area of ​​the Municipality of Brescia Daria Rossi and Elsa Boemi, manager of the civil protection service of the Municipality of Brescia.

For the next two years, the Operational Center for Environmental Defense will carry out information activities aimed at the population regarding hydrogeological risk and its volunteers will intervene in the case of extreme meteorological events. Furthermore, the association will take care of the maintenance of the paths, the prevention of hydrogeological risk, the control of areas at risk due to degradation and will carry out environmental education activities.
As in previous years, the Paracadutisti Onlus Civil Protection Volunteers Association will carry out training and information activities for the population regarding seismic and hydrogeological risk and on the self-protection rules to be adopted before, during and after an earthquake or a flood. For local emergencies, a team of at least five volunteers will be available 24 hours a day. Furthermore, the association will provide assistance and support to the Municipality regarding safety for the initiatives of significant impact organized by the latter.
