Brescia, refund on unused season ticket titles due to lockdown

Brescia, Starting from Friday 24 July 2020 the Brescia Mobilità Group, in agreement with the Municipality of Brescia, as required by art. 215 of the so-called "relaunch decree", recently converted into law (law 17 July 2020 n. 77), is ready to implement the protection provisions for holders of season tickets not used during the lockdown, i.e. from 8 March to 17 May 2020.

Although the public transport service, although reduced in frequency, has always remained active, many subscribers (primarily students and workers) have clearly not been able to use it due to the rigid limitation on travel established by the various Prime Ministerial Decrees.
For this reason, a specific regulatory intervention has been envisaged at national level to ensure specific forms of protection for commuters.
A protection that the Brescia Mobilità Group, in line with the guidelines issued by ASSTRA, the main association that brings together local public transport companies in Italy and in agreement with other public transport companies in Lombardy, has translated into practice by preparing what is necessary to issuing of special vouchers for season tickets not used during the lockdown period.

I voucher will be provided to subscribers to the public transport services managed by the Brescia Mobilità Group - therefore public transport, bus and metro, in the urban area (city + hinterland) of Brescia as well as the bus service in Desenzano del Garda - who have not been able to use the own travel document during the period foreseen by the national lockdown (8 March - 17 May) and can be used for the purchase of a travel document, in the name of the same person, of similar or greater economic value to the one not used.

Requests can be sent starting from 24 July and until 14 September 2020 via the online form which will be available in the dedicated section of the Brescia Mobilità Group website www.bresciamobilita.it/vouchercovid19 or by going to the Infopoints in Via Trieste 1 and Viale della Stazione 47 or the Info Ticket Point in Via San Donino 30 in Brescia or the Brescia Trasporti offices in Desenzano del Garda in Via Faustinella 29.

The Brescia Mobilità Group has also provided a further benefit.
Students who had an active subscription during the lockdown and who choose to purchase, with the voucher, an annual subscription for the 2020-21 school year will obtain a further discount: the cost of the annual subscription will thus be 199 euros, instead of the full rate of 260 euros, for Zone 1 and 315 euros, instead of 410 euros, for Zone 1+2.
This is an additional discount, offered by the Brescia Mobilità Group to reward its most loyal users, who in September will resume in-person school life interrupted by the health emergency and, with it, also the daily use of public transport.

Other opportunities will be provided for families, with the possibility of flexible use of the voucher between members of the same family unit.
For example, if in a family a child finished high school last year and no longer needs to purchase a season ticket for the upcoming school year - because, for example, he or she will attend university in another city - the Your voucher can be used by a younger or older sibling for the purchase of a student season ticket, or by a parent for the purchase of an ordinary season ticket.

With this initiative, the Brescia Mobilità Group is preparing for the September season ticket campaign, which will officially start after August 15th, and with which students and workers will be invited to confirm, after the closure period and the subsequent gradual resumption, transport public as a privileged means of transport for daily travel.
