Brescia, changes to traffic in Via Serenissima

Brescia, Monday 13 July, for about a month, traffic will be interrupted in via Serenissima at the railway overpass of the line Milano-Venice.

The closure, scheduled between the months of July and August to reduce the impact on traffic, will allow the extrados of the bridge to be repaired.

To reach Viale Sant'Eufemia from the southern area of the city you will have to take the southern ring road towards Verona and exit at the new junction for Rezzato – Botticino, then traveling along Via Paolo VI and Via Giovanni XXIII in the territory of the Municipality of Rezzato. To reach the southern area of Brescia from Viale Sant'Eufemia you will have to use the same route in the opposite direction. Normal traffic will be restored by mid-August. Cycle-pedestrian transit will always be guaranteed for the entire duration of the works.

The intervention is part of an important repair program of the structural elements of the via Serenissima railway overpass, which began last May 4th on the intrados of the bridge. The work became necessary following the checks carried out by the municipal administration on the artefacts of its road heritage. The project was carried out in collaboration with RFI and involves the restoration of the concrete cover and portions of deteriorated concrete, the strengthening of the structural elements through the application of reinforced carbon fiber composite materials (C-FRP), the waterproofing of the surface of the road surface, the installation of safety devices and the asphalting of the road surface.
