Benevento, the Municipality will meet the needs of traders

Profitable discussion this morning between Mayor Mastella, Confcommercio and Mio Italia

Benevento, the mayor Clemente Mastella this morning met the representative of Confcommercio, Nicola Romano, and the representative of Mio Italia, Mario Carfora, at Palazzo Mosti.
During the meeting, which was also attended by the councilor for Productive Activities, Alfredo Martignetti, and the manager Antonio Iadicicco, the Administration expressed full willingness to meet the needs of traders in this difficult economic moment.
In particular, Mayor Mastella reassured that the measures already implemented last summer will be confirmed, namely the free concession of public spaces outside commercial activities and the financial and fiscal benefits. Indeed, the mayor hoped for the launch of a Government provision that would allow Local Authorities to go beyond the measures already implemented last year precisely by virtue of the significant worsening of the economic situation.
Mayor Mastella also welcomed the request made by Confcommercio to make a hub available for carrying out vaccinations to commercial and industrial categories on the basis of the agreement signed by the latter with Inail. In this regard, both Mayor Mastella and the representatives of Confcommercio and Mia Italia have made an appeal to the city's entrepreneurs to join the initiative in a united manner.
The Municipality will also be responsible for verifying whether there are sponsors who can in some way facilitate the purchase of umbrellas, chairs and tables to be made available to commercial businesses and thus also standardize the city's street furniture.
Mayor Mastella then underlined from this perspective the goodness of the choice made by the municipal administration not to reopen Corso Garibaldi to traffic, as requested by some trade organisations. A choice which - underlined the mayor - would not only have contributed to worsening the air quality, but would also have prevented the use of outdoor spaces along Corso Garibaldi.
In this regard, the tricolor band has also announced that, in agreement with traders and neighborhood committees, the Municipality will also evaluate the closure of other streets in the city at certain times of the day in order to give the possibility of using outdoor spaces to further commercial activities.
Mayor Mastella and the representatives of the commercial organizations have finally decided to develop an agreement which, through the cultural events scheduled in the summer months, can promote the knowledge and consumption of the food and wine excellences of Sannio, and consequently be an attractive factor for the visitors. With this in mind, Confcommercio has also announced that it will re-propose the organization of an afternoon market in via Grimoaldo Re.
