17 million Euros of Italian Cooperation resources allocated for emergency interventions in Lebanon
The humanitarian picture of the Lebanon it is drastically got worse due to escalating violence and displacement. The needs of those who have been forced to flee their homes in recent weeks are in addition to those of the Lebanese host communities and the large refugee community living in the country.
Following the announcement on Monday 30 September by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Tajani, during the Foreign Affairs Council, the Deputy Minister Hon. Edmund Cirielli he assigned 17 million resources from the Italian Cooperation for humanitarian interventions in LebanonThese interventions will be implemented by OCHA (4 million Euros), UNHCR (3 million Euro) and from Italian CSOs (10 million Euro). The activities will be modulated according to the needs indicated in the United Nations Humanitarian Appeal, paying particular attention to sectors of health, water and sanitation, education and child protection.
He comes then the commitment of the Italian Cooperation in the Lebanese context confirmed, as already demonstrated at the beginning of the year with the approval of resources equal to 6 million for humanitarian interventions by international organizations such as WFP, UNHCR and OCHA.
