Pistoia: Caught driving a car with a fake foreign license, reported and fined 5.100 euros

As part of the road checks carried out by the Municipal Police officers, a man was discovered driving with a fake license.

Domiciled in Pistoia, the man was driving a friend's car. When he reached via Battisti he was stopped for a check by a patrol of the local police.

The man showed a driving licence apparently issued by a foreign country, but after careful checks the officers of the Traffic Unit confirmed that the document it did not have the characteristics of a real driving licence, resulting instead counterfeit.

The driving license was immediately confiscated and the man was reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office of Pistoia for the crimes of material forgery of a public document and use of a false document. The car, however, was placed under administrative seizure for three months. Two fines were issued: the driver for driving without a license was fined 5.100 euros, and the owner of the vehicle was fined 397 euros for reckless entrustment.
