Pistoia: Carnival Returns on February 16, 23 and March 2

Back the Carnival in Pistoia, an event that combines tradition with fun. 3 days of celebration which will take place in Resistance square: the first parade of floats is planned Sunday February 16, the dates following the 23 February e 2 March.

In case of bad weather, a parade may be recovered on 9 March.

The initiative is organized by Citizen committee with the participation of Common.

They are 8 allegorical floats – with new masks – made by the volunteers from the 4 city districts. It will be possible to climb on 4 masked floats for children to go all the way around Piazza della Resistenza among colors and confetti.

The parade, like every year, will travel along the road for a part (which will be closed to allow the demonstration) and another part inside the square. Each day of celebration will also be animated by face painting, ponies, performances by dance and ballet schools and food stands.

For the second year the competition for the most beautiful mask, organized in collaboration with the editorial staff of La Nazione. A playful competition to identify, on each day of Carnival, the 3 Most Imaginative and Original Costumes. The winners will be called to the stage for the awards ceremony around 16.30 pm. The prizes are offered by Conad North West e Andreini toys.

Entrance to the Carnival è free up to 10 years of age, while for the others a contribution of 5 €. At the time of purchasing the ticket you will be given a discount coupon valid in Conad supermarkets in Pistoia, at Mister Wizard and in the Andreini toys shop.

Advance ticket sales for the entrance to the carnival event will begin Monday 3 February at the Bar Nazionale in Leonardo Da Vinci square.

The masquerade party is supported by Conad Nord Ovest, Brandini Auto, Mister Wizard, Generali Insurance, Andreini toys, Fortezza 39, Ciemme and will also take place thanks to the participation of Avis, National Carabinieri Association of Pistoia, Mobile Radio Group, Parish of Santa Maria Assunta of Chiazzano and numerous volunteers from the 4 city districts.
