Piacenza, accident on the Via Emilia Pavese: driver leaves the scene for "physiological reasons" but is reported for having a false driving license.
An intervention by the Carabinieri of the Piacenza Radiomobile, which occurred in the early morning yesterday, led to the complaint of a man for forgery and use of counterfeit documentsThe episode started with a car accident on Via Emilia Pavese, where a car and a van were involved in a collision no injuries. The driver of the van requested intervention from the 112, reporting that he had been rear-ended at a roundabout.
The driver of the car, a 41-year-old originally from Ivory Coast and domiciled in Piacenza, had however temporarily left the scene of the accident, justifying his absence with alleged physiological reasonsOnce he was tracked down and brought back to the scene, the military identified him and subjected him to the usual checks. It was precisely at this stage that the critical issue emerged: the man was driving around with a counterfeit driving license, apparently of an extra-European type.
The checks carried out on the document confirmed the forgery, immediately triggering the complaint for use of false deedOn board the vehicle there was also a passenger, a compatriot of the driver, who was identified but extraneous result to falsification. The degree of responsibility of the accused must be assessed by the competent authorities, in compliance with the principle of presumption of innocence.
