Pescara, State Police arrest at the border for aggravated theft

On the evening of Friday, December 6, State Police personnel proceeded to arrest a 24-year-old woman arriving from Bucharest on flight FR5471.
Upon arrival at the airport, targeted random checks were carried out on passengers coming from the Schengen area (Romania); an area where freedom of movement exists without systematic control of all documents, as happens in non-Schengen countries.

Around 19.00:XNUMX pm, the patrol on duty for such checks stopped the aforementioned passenger, of Romanian nationality, who was travelling alone and was intending to spend some time in Italy around the December 8th long weekend.
Following initial checks, it emerged that this was the subject of a pending investigation for the execution of a prison order.

Pescara, arresto della Polizia di Stato alla frontiera per furto aggravato

The agents intervened immediately and accompanied the foreigner to their offices at the airport and decided to investigate the situation further.

From an in-depth study, carried out by the judicial police team of the Pescara border police led by Deputy Police Commissioner Dino Petitti, it turned out that the woman actually had to serve, under house arrest, a sentence of two years and three months pursuant to a 2023 sentence for aggravated theft crimes, which occurred between 2020 and 2022 in Macerata. The measure was not applied because the individual was untraceable on the national territory.

Once the routine checks were completed, the order was executed and the woman was subsequently escorted to her declared residence where she will have to serve the relevant sentence.
