Pescara: Married couple arrested for possession of drugs for the purpose of dealing

I Carabinieri of the Investigative Unit of the Operational Department of the Provincial Command of Pescara, In collaboration with the 'Anti-drug canine unit of the Chieti Dog Unit, within the scope of a targeted judicial police activity with particular attention paid to combating the trafficking of narcotic substances illegally introduced into the territory, have drawn into arrest following a house search, married couple from Pescara, 45 years old, awaiting employment, burdened by specific criminal records, found in possession of 155 grams of cocaine.

In this circumstance, during the phases of the search inside the house, the attention paid by Gipsy, the young German Shepherd in the Chieti Dog Unit, who insistently “pointed” and signaled to his soldier handler the lower part of a brick kitchen, allowed the Carabinieri to further investigate that area.

Indeed, even in this case, Gipsy's instincts proved to be absolutely effective and decisive since, cleverly hidden inside a cavity of the aforementioned kitchen, two cellophane packages containing cocaine for a total weight of approximately 50 grams.

The continuation of the operation allowed us to find a further 100 grams of the same substance hidden inside the plasterboard false ceiling of the same room.

For these reasons, husband and wife, at the end of the formal procedures, were declared in state of arrest for possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing and transferred respectively to the Pescara and Chieti prisons at the disposal of the Judicial Authority.
