Pescara: Checks in nightlife areas, fines of 700 euros with 19 points deducted from the license
The Pescara State Police has organized a service to combat driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, with the help of a mobile laboratory and with the presence of health personnel from the Pescara Police Headquarters. The service was carried out by the Highway Police patrols in main nightlife areas of the city of Pescara. A patrol of the Highway Police, he ordered a car to stop Mercedes B-class, whose driver, instead of stopping, fled. The fleeing car was chased for several minutes along the city streets, during which time the driver of the Mercedes was carrying out very dangerous manoeuvres (passing red lights and driving the wrong way). Finally the car crashed into a roundabout along the Via Tiburtina.
The driver, a 31 year old resident in the province of Pescara, after being searched he was found in possession of a switchblade and a small quantity of a narcotic substance, presumably cocaine, hidden in a packet of cigarettes. Subjected to a saliva test, to ascertain the presence of narcotic substances, he was tested positive for cocaine use. The 31-year-old was reported for illegal possession of a cutting weapon, reported to the Administrative Authority for possession of narcotics, he was finally charged with traffic fines for a total of over 700 euros with the deduction of 19 points and suspension of his driving license.
In the same service, Another car, driven by a 26-year-old man and proceeding at an uncertain and zigzagging pace, was ordered to stop resident in the Province of Chieti, who was found to have a blood alcohol level higher than the legal limit, equal to 0,92 g/l and, after having been subjected to the subsequent saliva test to ascertain the intake of narcotic substances, the positive result was found for three substances: Cannabinoids, Cocaine and Amphetamines. Finally, a car was seized because it did not have insurance coverage.
