Catignano: 51-year-old arrested for sexual assault and stalking. An illegal weapon was found; his cousin, who lives with him, was also arrested.

The Carabinieri of the Penne Company carried out a pre-trial detention in prison against a 51 year old with specific precedents, considered seriously suspected of stalking, sexual assault, damage, trespassing and attempted robbery to the detriment of his ex-partner.

The woman, finding in the Carabinieri Station of Catignano a safe place to ask for help, he found the courage to tell a story of harassment, intimidation and assault which had been going on for months.

An escalation of violence: from threats to more serious incidents

The investigation revealed that it all started after the end of the relationship, three months ago. From that moment on, the man allegedly carried out a constant persecution, culminating in two particularly serious episodes.

The first episode: street assault (October 2025)

According to investigators: the man would have reached the woman while she was in the car; he would have grabbed by the hair, dragged out of the vehicle and thrown to the ground; would have cell phone and bag destroyedThe 51-year-old then allegedly started the car, reversing and hitting the victim with the open door. He then abandoned her in tears, who was helped by some shocked passersby.

The second episode: sexual violence at home

A few days later, the man allegedly showed up at the victim's door, threatening to break down the entrance. Once inside: he would have asked for money and the card for withdrawal; he allegedly threatened to destroy the house; he allegedly forced the terrified woman to non-consensual sexual intercourse; he also allegedly feared possessing a weapon.

The discovery of the clandestine weapon and the arrest of the cousin who lives with him

The next house search confirmed what the victim had reported.

The Carabinieri found a house Beretta pistol with counterfeit serial number, in the hands of the cohabiting cousinwhich was arrested in flagrante for possession of an illegal weapon.

The investigating judge of the Pescara Court, evaluating the high risk of repetition of the conduct and the seriousness of the situation that emerged, ordered the pre-trial detention in prison for the 51-year-old.
