The provincial commander of the Carabinieri of Perugia, Colonel Sergio Molinari, met today with representatives of the information bodies for a cordial exchange of Christmas greetings and to take stock of the activities and results achieved by the Arma during 2024 in the provincial territory.
At the opening, it was underlined how the action of the Benemerita at local level is based on a proven synergy between all the police forces and the institutional authorities such as Prefecture and Judiciary, with the aim of ensuring constant and supportive support to local communities, preserving public order and safety. The operational approach remains oriented towards "community policing", with a focus on citizens.
Thanks to the widespread presence of the 9 company commands and 63 stations operational in the Common 59 of the province, and with the support of the specialty departments, the Arma has managed to carry out its task in an effective manner. This action is in line with the directives of the General Luca Corbellotti, commander of the Carabinieri Legion “Umbria”.
Emergency response and territory control
Among the most significant data:
- 49.000 calls handled from the Single Emergency Number 112 and 5.053 from 1515;
- 40.410 external services carried out, of which 8.264 dedicated to public order, with the employment of 76.410 military personnel;
- 111.462 people checked e 82.147 vehicles checked.
During international events such as the G7 Inclusion and Disability, which took place in Umbria from 14 to 16 October, the Carabinieri employed over 400 military, ensuring impeccable organization, appreciated internationally.
Fighting crime
With the coordination of the Public Prosecutor's Offices of Perugia, Spoleto and the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office:
- 441 arrests, Of which 26 for theft e 7 for robbery;
- 3.839 reports at liberty;
- In the fight against drug trafficking: 91 arrests in flagrante delicto, 59 executions of precautionary measures, 115 complaints, and beyond 15 kg of substances seized.
Overall, the Carabinieri departments proceeded with the 78% of the crimes recorded on the territory.
Prevention and culture of legality
Numerous preventive initiatives:
- 131 meetings in schools, involving 8.980 students to promote the Culture of Legality;
- 107 information events to combat scams, with the participation of 2.800 Guests;
- 79 meetings dedicated to gender violence, involving approximately 3.800 participants.
In particular, a new protected room called “A Room of One's Own”, at the Todi Company, in collaboration with the association Soroptimist International of Italy.
Specialized departments
The contribution of the specialty departments is significant:
- Forestry Carabinieri Group: 1 arrest, 397 complaints e 1.083 administrative violations high;
- CITES core: 120 inspections, 2 seizures and 9 administrative disputes;
- Anti-Adulteration and Health Unit (NAS): 801 inspections, 1 arrest, 24 complaints and penalties for over €188.628;
- Unit for the Protection of Cultural Heritage: 438 inspections, 56 reports and 14 seizures;
- Labor Inspectorate Unit: 114 inspections, 10 arrests and fines for €275.459;
- Ecological Operations Unit (NOE): 144 checks, 5 reports and seizures for environmental violations.

Operations/Relevant Activities 2024
- January 17 (Norcia): Arrest of a 57-year-old Italian for armed robbery at the Post Office. The stolen amount was recovered.
- January 20 (Perugia): Three Albanian citizens (aged 20-31) arrested in flagrante for aggravated theft in a home. The burglary tools were seized and the stolen goods were returned to their rightful owner.
- January 31 (Assisi): Execution of a precautionary measure in prison for a 47-year-old Eastern European, investigated for aggravated and continued sexual violence against a minor under the age of fourteen.
- February 7 (Marsciano): Arrest of three Italians and a Romanian for aggravated and continued extortion against an Italian citizen.
- March 5 (Assisi): Arrest of an Italian citizen in possession of 1 kg of hashish.
- April 8 (Perugia): Anti-drug operation in seven Italian provinces, with the arrest of 10 people for heroin trafficking. 46 kg of heroin, 5 kg of cocaine, and other narcotics seized.
- April 18 (Perugia): Execution of a precautionary measure in prison for 3 people involved in aggravated robbery and other crimes related to an episode that occurred in 2023 in Perugia.
- May 30 (Foligno): Arrest in flagrante delicto of a 46-year-old Italian for aggravated sexual assault on two minors in a shop. Pretrial detention in prison.
- June 14 (Tuoro sul Trasimeno): Arrest of a 34-year-old Moroccan for attempted murder and grievous bodily harm, after a knife attack on his partner and daughter.
- June 20 (Marsciano): Arrest of a 36-year-old Chinese man for exploitation of illegal labor and aiding illegal immigration. Suspension of business activity and seizures.
- July 11 (Assisi): Arrest of a fugitive subject to a European arrest warrant for criminal association and theft from an organised gang.
- July 21 (Spoleto): 42-year-old Albanian man arrested for murder. The man fatally shot a 28-year-old during an argument.
- July 22 (Foligno): Arrest of an undocumented man involved in drug trafficking, recipient of a European arrest warrant.
- August 1st (Costacciaro): Arrest of four individuals from Campania for defrauding an elderly woman using the fake road accident technique.
- August 16 (Province of Perugia): Operation against gangmastering in agriculture, with the referral of six entrepreneurs and fines of over €50.000.
- September 16 (Trevi): Arrest of a 20-year-old Albanian with 1 kg of cocaine hidden in his vehicle.
- September 17 (Province of Perugia and other locations): 7 Albanians arrested for drug trafficking in various Italian regions. Cocaine, marijuana and €40.000 in cash seized.
- September 17 (Città di Castello): Arrest of 5 Albanians and Moroccans for possession of drugs with intent to deal.
- September 18 (Città di Castello): Arrest of a Swiss man with a serious criminal record, destined for extradition for crimes committed in Switzerland.
- October 30 (Foligno): Arrest of a subject for robbery in a tobacconist's armed with a knife.
- November 26 (Perugia): Arrest of a 20-year-old Moroccan for the attempted murder of a 24-year-old.
- December 7 (Foligno): Arrest of a 48-year-old Romanian for attempted aggravated theft with explosives at an ATM. Also arrested on European arrest warrants issued by Romania and France.
