Città di Castello: he wanders around with a knife in the town center and attacks the Carabinieri, arrested

On the afternoon of Thursday 23 January, two patrols from the local Carabinieri Company intervened near the train station, after some citizens had reported, through the Single Emergency Number – NUE -112, a person armed with a knife who was threatening passers-by.

Once the man was identified, a 36 year old of Algerian origin with a criminal record, the soldiers had to overcome strong resistance, engaging in a fight during which the subject, in an attempt to escape, struck an elbow to the neck of one of the Carabinieri who intervened, who suffered a slight contusive trauma to the cervical spine.
Furthermore, during the frantic phases of immobilization, once inside the car radio, the individual kicked hard into the passenger compartment, damaging the door and the rear window of the car radio.

During the check, the subject, as reported, was found in possession of a switchblade, which was immediately seized.

Once the formal procedures were completed, on the basis of such significant circumstantial evidence of seriousness, the 36-year-old was arrested for violence, resistance and contempt of a public official and damage, for the damage caused to the military vehicle, as well as having to answer for the hypothesis of illegal possession of weapons. Yesterday the direct hearing before the Court of Perugia, at the end of which the arrest was validated and the person concerned was subjected to the measure of house arrest.
