Città di Castello: They cause an accident with a stolen car, two people reported

During a night-time territorial control service, the Carabinieri of the Operative and Radiomobile Nucleus of the Città di Castello Company, following a report received by the Single Emergency Number – NUE – 112, intervened for a traffic accident occurred on a main artery in the city centre.

On site, the military detected the presence of thecar, with signs of damage resulting from a single-vehicle accident against a roadside bollard, without however finding the driver.

The immediate investigations, thanks also to a testimony given by a citizen, however allowed the identification of the two individuals, already burdened by criminal records, who, following the accident, were seen getting out of the car, abandoned on the road, and then starting to tinker in the immediate vicinity near other parked vehicles, probably with the intent of committing the theft.

One of the two individuals, subjected to checks, was found with a key used to start the accidented car, which was in fact the object of theft, reported the previous day by a citizen of Città di Castello. As a result, both were reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office of Perugia for the crime of receiving stolen goods in competition.
