Assisi: husband and wife arrested by the Carabinieri for drug dealing

The Carabinieri of the Operational and Radiomobile Nucleus of the Assisi Company have arrested, in flagrante delicto, a couple, a husband and wife aged 22 and 25, of Albanian origin, held responsible for possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing.

The operational result was achieved after the military personnel of the Arma received several reports on the Single Emergency Number – NUE – 112 from citizens who had noticed unusual movements of the couple on board a car. This resulted in repeated observation and control services, as well as tailing, until the car, with the couple on board, was spotted by the Carabinieri while it was wandering around the streets of AssisiThe military operations began when a man approached them and made a quick exchange with the occupants of the vehicle.

After witnessing the scene, The Carabinieri immediately stopped the buyer who, when searched, was found in possession of two doses of cocaine. Immediately, the drug dealers' car was chased and stopped by a Gazelle of the Radiomobile Unit which, after having identified the man and the woman on board, proceeded to carry out a search personal and vehicle search, finding two more doses of cocaine hidden and ready to be sold, as well as packaging material. Furthermore, the man still had on him the money he had received from the customer for the sale of the doses.

The two, husband and wife, in possession of passports and present in the national territory thanks to tourist visas, were immediately taken to the headquarters of the Carabinieri Company of Assisi.

Once the investigations began, the military managed to locate the apartment where the couple lived and where, after the house search, they found just over a thousand euros in cash, presumably the proceeds of the illicit activity, material for packaging the doses, as well as a hiding place, in a field near the house, with another eight doses of cocaine.

Following what has been ascertained, on the basis of such significant evidentiary elements, the couple was arrested for the aforementioned crime. After spending the night inside the security cells of the Carabinieri Company of Assisi, both were brought before the Judge of the Court of Perugia, who the arrest of the couple was validated, while at the same time they were subjected to the obligation of daily reporting to the Judicial Police while awaiting the trial.
