Oristano: Saturday 7 December theatrical performance in limba "Su primu cittadinu", funds for charity to the Servidoras Sisters
On Saturday 7 December, at 18 pm, the church of San Domenico, in via Lamarmora, will host a theatrical performance in the Sardinian language to raise funds to be donated in an extraordinary way to the Sisters Servants of the Lord and the Virgin of Matarà in Oristano.
The S'Iscummissa women's theater company from Paulilatino will stage the comedy “Su primu cittadinu”. Written and directed by Teodora Masia, The work tells the story of the adventures of the mayor of a small town and his relationships with the people closest to him. The proceeds will go, like last year, to meet the needs of the Servidoras.
The initiative is by a group of citizens from Oristano which involved the S'Iscummissa theatre group of Paulilatino and organised the evening to support the Servidoras Sisters of the Nostra Signora di Bonaria contemplative life community.
"There is someone who needs us, waiting for our help, our generosity and our solidarity – say the organizers who also organized a similar initiative in 2023 -. We appeal to all the people of Oristano to come in large numbers to spend an evening of fun and joy, but above all of solidarity towards our Servidoras Sisters. The proceeds will be used to help them meet their extraordinary needs. Remembering what Mother Teresa of Calcutta said, “Not all of us can do great things, but we can do small things with great love”, we invite everyone to participate in the evening".
The Servidoras Sisters take their name from a small wooden cross made by an Indian of the Matarás tribe in 1595 which was found in a small town called Matará, in the province of Santiago del Estero (Argentina). In Oristano they have their headquarters in the convent on Via Lamarmora.
