Oristano: a pointer reduced to a skeleton seized.
A pointer reduced to skin and bones held in a context of extreme hygienic-sanitary degradation in Oristano was seized by the zoophilic guards of the International Organization for Animal Protection (OIPA).
The keeper was reported for mistreatment and abandonment of animals.
Nola, this is the name she was given, is now in a veterinary clinic and, as soon as she is better, she can be given in temporary foster care to whoever wants to give her all the love and attention that was denied her. Once the legal process is over, she can be permanently adopted (for information: tel. 3409555105, email guardioristano@oipa.org).
«We found Nola in appalling conditions during a normal routine check in the area», Roberto Fadda, the coordinator of the zoo guards of Oristano and the province, tells us. «The dog, who is about 10 years old, was miraculously alive, malnourished as she was, practically a skeleton. As also ascertained by the ASL vet present during the kidnapping action, she was in conditions of extreme malnutrition and dehydration. She also had several abrasions on various parts of her body covered in fly larvae and parasites."
Oipa invites you not to ignore cases of degradation and mistreatment of which you are aware and to always contact its zookeepers who, in full respect of privacy, can intervene to protect the animals.
