Oristano: They attempted to extort money by threatening to riot at the reception center; two foreign minors arrested.

In the province of Oristano, two minors of foreign origin were arrested by the Carabinieri of the Provincial Command after having attempted to to extort money to the manager of the facility hosting them, threatening to provoke an "uprising" among the other guests.

According to the military's reconstruction, everything began on Tuesday morning when one of the two young men began to ask for refund for a pair of shoes, worth approximately 150 €, which he claimed had been stolen from him.

The first requests were followed by threats in group chat of the structure and, in the following hours, physical and verbal intimidation addressed to two operators, in a climate of strong tension and fear.

The situation further degenerated: the two minors allegedly threatened to damage furniture and furnishings and to foment a protest within the facility to force the manager to hand over the requested money.

The call to the Unique Emergency Number 112 a patrol of the Carabinieri converged on the spot, which caught red-handed the two young men while they were cursing and threatening to physically attack the operators, not even stopping in the presence of the military.

The intervention of the Carabinieri, conducted with professionalism and calm, prevented the occurrence of much more serious consequences, isolating the two boys who were now in an evident state of agitation.

The minors have been declared investigated for attempted extortion and aggravated threats.

After the ritual formalities, by order of the Public Prosecutor on duty at the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office of Cagliari, the two were transferred to a Institute of the Ministry of Justice located on the island.
