Talana: 31-year-old arrested by the Carabinieri for resisting a public official, receiving stolen goods and illegal possession of weapons

During the night of November 30, during a service of control of the territory in the countryside of the municipality of Talana, the Carabinieri of the Arzana Anti-Crime Squadron, with the support of the Lanusei Squadron, have drawn 31 year old man from Lanusei arrested, responsible for the crime of resisting a public official, receiving stolen goods and illegal possession of weapons in a public place.

The young man, noticed parked on board his car in the locality of “On Fundale”, was found in possession of a rifle, placed in the passenger seat. Visibly worried, he resisted the control by pushing the soldiers and fleeing. Having disappeared into the bush, he was subsequently tracked down along the old SS 389 towards Villanova Strisaili.

The search of the car allowed for find and seize a 12 gauge over-and-under shotgun equipped with a torch (resulted stolen), a folding knife and 3 cartridges.

Once the formal procedures were completed, the arrested person was transferred to the “San Daniele” prison in Lanusei and, following the validation hearing held on the morning of 2 December, he was subjected to precautionary measure of house arrest.
