Nuoro: from June 50.000st to September 34.000st, over XNUMX people and XNUMX vehicles were checked during extraordinary operations.

In order to guarantee the safety of citizens during the summer season, the Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Nuoro have intensified their activity, especially along the coasts and at public events and on weekends.

To combat predatory crimes and in particular home burglaries, road controls have been increased, especially on those with heavy traffic. Foot patrols using personnel in civilian clothes in places where people gather, with particular attention to night hours and weekends. All available personnel on the field of the 77 Stations and 1 Lieutenancy serving the 100 Municipalities entrusted to the Provincial Command, of the Radiomobile Nuclei, of the Squadrons, with the invaluable support of the Helicopter Squadron Cacciatori di Sardegna, of the Carabinieri Helicopter Units of Olbia and Cagliari and of the Nuoro Labor Inspectorate.

From 1 June to 1 September over 50.000 people and 34.000 vehicles were checked.

40 arrests were made and 470 individuals were reported at liberty. The crimes prosecuted by the province's police force were approximately 1.380 and the checks were carried out within the scope of services aimed at contrasting production, dealing and consumption of narcotic substances allowed the seizure of over 35 kg of narcotic substances, with 90 people reported to the Prefecture as users.

In contrast to the phenomenon of alcohol abuse, 36 people caught driving with a blood alcohol level higher than the permitted level were reported.

A 53-year-old from Meana Sardo was arrested for attempted murder using a hoe. In Brunella, a hamlet of Torpè, two people originally from Oliena were arrested, for attempted robbery at the post office.

As happened in a similar case in the previous weeks, with 2 arrests made in Cagliari upon boarding the ferry, once again the alleged perpetrators of the telephone scam involving the fake Carabinieri Marshal have been identified and subjected to measures by the Naples AG, after one of the two had shown up at the home of the mother and aunt of the President of the Sardinia Region, thus obtaining money and gold jewelry.

In Cala Liberotto, two young Carabinieri free from service at the Bitti Station (NU), without hesitation dived into the sea and they managed to save three children and their father who were in danger of drowning.

The extraordinary checks will continue also in the month of September, as a constant security presence on the territory.
