On March 1, the Novara State Police executed an arrest warrant against a man born in 1956 who will now have to serve 4 years and 5 months in prison following a criminal proceeding that began in 2023 when, after having had an argument with two young foreigners in the city, he fired two shots in the air with a firearm that was not legally held.
An officer of the Flying Squad, off duty, was about to have lunch in a restaurant on Corso Trieste with his family when he noticed a man entering the same establishment, accompanied by a Labrador, known to the Police Headquarters for having a pending search for the execution of a prison order, but in fact untraceable. The officer recognized the man because, about three years earlier, he had also handled him at the Police Headquarters on the occasion of a previous arrest carried out by the State Police. Having realized his presence, the officer immediately contacted the Operations Center to report the situation, and then got in direct communication with the Flying Squad crew on duty to constantly update them on every movement.
After entering the restaurant, he decided to wait his turn at a table outside. Shortly after, Having sat down at the table with two men, he was joined by the policeman and a team that came to assist him and taken to the police station to be subsequently taken to the local prison.
