Arona, scratch-off ticket theft: 4 individuals reported by the Carabinieri

The Carabinieri of Verbania have charged four men with aggravated theft in competition: 22 winning tickets have been recovered, stolen from a tobacconist in Arona.

I Carabinieri of the Mobile Radio Section and the Operations Section of the Verbania Company four men, all of whom are nationals, have been reported at large Georgian and residents of Turin, aged 34, 37, 43 and 47, for the crime of aggravated theft in competition.

The group is suspected of being responsible for the theft of numerous Scratch and win, perpetrated late yesterday morning against a tobacconist's shop in AronaTaking advantage of a moment of distraction from the owner, the four allegedly stole two packs of still-wrapped tickets, with a commercial value of approximately 600 €.

The owner, having noticed the theft, immediately contacted the local Carabinieri station, which through the vision of the images of video surveillance she managed to identify the two perpetrators, an accomplice acting as an external lookout and a fourth man driving a car with French plates.

Thanks to the license plate reading system, the military intercepted the vehicle Gravellona Toce, blocking the car at the Verta Gallery after a chase. During the search, they were found 22 winning scratch-off tickets, corresponding to those stolen a few hours earlier. The value of the winning tickets amounts to approximately 300 €.

Among the seized objects there is also a leather bag lined with tin foil, probably used to circumvent the shops' anti-theft systems. The other tickets, presumably non-winning, were not found. The four men were reported for aggravated theft in competitionInvestigations are continuing to determine any possible connections to other thefts in the area in recent months.
