They arrived at Brussels i 14 Ligurian students challenge winners “Hackathon to Brussels”, the training initiative that every year Liguria region promotes to sensitize young people to the values ofEurope of citizens and the active participationThe competition, held byThe 1 3 October in institutions Imperia Technological Center e Marconi Delpino of Chiavari, involved 90 students from 12 schools of Genoa, Rapallo, Sestri Levante, Chiavari, Alassio, Imperia, Ventimiglia and Sanremo.
The theme of the 2024 edition was “The school I would like”, with innovation proposals in line with the three principles of New European Bauhaus: sustainability, beauty e inclusionThe winning projects allowed the two selected groups to obtain a three-day study stay in the European capital.
During the training trip, the children participated in a regional event at the European Parliament, organized by the Brussels Office of the Liguria Region. A significant opportunity to present their ideas to representatives of European institutions, including the Chief of Staff of the Liguria Region Massimiliano Nannini, the MEPs Brando Benifei, Silvia Sardone, Lara Magoni, Gaetano Pedullà, the official of the European Parliament Marco Campomenosi and various institutional representatives.
"Since the beginning of our mandate, President Bucci has wanted to strengthen the role of the Liguria Region in relations with European institutions. "This has resulted in the strengthening of the Brussels Office and the creation of new collaborations with research institutions and the University of Genoa, to be closer to decision-making bodies and make our voice heard more forcefully in Europe."
The experience represents for the students a personal and civic growth path, with the opportunity to discover firsthand how European institutions work and interact with Union representatives. This opportunity is in line with European programs such as Erasmus and European Voluntary Service, who actively support the new generations.
