Sanremo Festival: Giorgia wins the cover night and tonight the grand finale
Tonight is the Finale evening
Sanremo Festival: Giorgia wins the cover night and tonight is the grand finale.
The President of the Liguria Region Marco Bucci personally delivered the award to the winner Giorgia who duetted the song Skyfall with Annalisa.
"Liguria is beautiful, we are happy to host you all - said President Bucci while presenting the award - Let us remember that Liguria was also the homeland and cradle of many songwriters, singers and musicians, from Luigi Tenco and the Reverberi brothers to Fabrizio De Andrè: they are the history of our youth and of Ligurian musical culture. And then I was pleased to hear Il Pescatore among the covers, which was my favorite song when I was young and still is, I was moved".
The award, created by an artist recognized by the Region's brand of excellence "Artigiani in Liguria", depicts a 33 rpm vinyl record in hand-painted artistic glass, with the profile of the region immersed in the sea and waves that transform into pentagrams. The pentagrams feature the first notes of three famous songs that have made the recent history of the Festival: 'Terra promessa' by Eros Ramazzotti (1984), 'Il mare calmo della sera' by Andrea Bocelli (1994) and 'Soldi' by Mahmood (2019).
