The interview:

– From the theater of Puglia to finding yourself acting alongside Lily Collins, how did you face this wonderful leap?
– My passion for acting was born in an amateur theater where I played my first role as Pirandello’s Liolà. The leap, which you ask me about in the question, was exciting, almost a walk to discover my talents, to study, to chase that then allowed me to work on this international set next to Lily Collins. I must say, however, that the emotions I felt in my first theater performances, or during my studies at the film school, in Rome, are the same that I then found “on a grand scale”, on an international set. In this regard, I quote Troisi who similarly stated that the emotions, fears, and desires, that you feel during great cinematographic experiences, are the same that you also find before success.

– What was it like working for Andrew Fleming?
– I was very inspired to work with him, he is a very determined person, a director who already knew very well the dynamics inside the apartment where he wanted to shoot the scene. It was an experience from which I learned a lot from a professional point of view. The fifth season of Emily in Paris will be shot again in the Capital, so I hope to be able to work again with these incredible professionals.

– To get into character, did you rely on any specific advice from the director?

– To get into the part I think it is necessary to have some references. To have a clear idea of the place, and the dynamics of the scene. Contextualizing, I had to materialize the idea of the meeting with Emily and show her the apartment; focus attention on the most important thing of the meeting, that is, to make Emily like the apartment and make her stay in Rome pleasant. Then, undoubtedly, precious advice from the director comes in so as to allow the take to be fully successful.

– What is the most exciting memory or a particular episode on set that you will take with you after the experience alongside Lily Collins?
– There were many exciting moments during the breaks, for example I remember talking to Lily Collins about the most beautiful places in Rome to visit, or restaurants where you can eat delicious meals. There was also a hilarious moment, in particular when we were filming with the drone, there were seagulls on the Roman roofs, who suddenly attacked the camera, it was a moment of panic, but which then immediately resulted in fun and collective.

– Emily in Paris has achieved enormous success, in your opinion what is the secret, the real strength of this TV series?
– It’s a successful show because it’s a bit of a universal story that we should all face, leaving our comfort zone and facing life’s challenges, even in unknown places, and trying to reach our desires, our dreams. Emily in Paris reminds us that life can be both exciting and scary; but in the end it’s always worth it.

– In your work as an actor, what is your source of inspiration?
– My source of inspiration is the street. I think it is the best place where you can grasp details, even through non-verbal communication, in full observation of people. I am a good observer. Living between Rome and London, I am very inclined to grasp the many nuances dictated by internationality, and the ways in which different cultures interact. In addition to being an actor, I am also a communication coach and my clients provide me with another source of inspiration; thanks to their performances, I often glimpse courageous choices from which to be inspired.

– From a famous commercial, replacing George Clooney, to the wonderful world of Emily in Paris, what is the next step? What are your plans for the future?

– To learn more and more from a personal and professional point of view, and to be able to help my clients, as a communication coach, trying to teach them to communicate with more authenticity without limits and anxieties.
