A real musical ecosystem that will last all year, from March 22nd to October 19th
MusicAmonza 2025. Councilor Bettin: “We tell the story of the city through music”.
It is a real "musical ecosystem" that the Municipality of Monza has created to offer the city a music season in the name of quality. MusicAmonza 2025 offers a carnet of heterogeneous appointments with musical art, to satisfy different sound tastes.
“MusicAmonza gathers under one name the flagship initiatives of the Monza musical year. Thanks to the coordination and effort of many excellent organizations that work in our territory, with the support of various institutional bodies, for the first time we are able to present a programme schedule that runs throughout the year, 12 months, with high quality performance and content. MusicAmonza will not only touch the most important cultural sites of the city, such as the Villa Reale with Musique Royale and many other initiatives, but will also concern unusual and unconventional places. We do not only propose concerts, but immersive experiences and conferences around the world of the pentagram. Starting in 2025, we tell the city through music and music throughout the city, all year round,” explains Councilor for Culture, Park and Royal Villa Arianna Bettin.
The first appointment is scheduled from Saturday 22 March to Monday 7 April. The third edition of the Monza Music Meetings, event organized by theCamera Canova Orchestra with theChigiana Music Academy of Siena and the cultural association Musicamorphosis: for over two weeks the capital of Brianza will host concerts, performances, meetings, talks and opportunities for comparison, dialogue e swap between artists, professionals and spectators, with the aim of networking to promote and facilitate the diffusion of musical culture through experience, listening and reflection.
The most important events will be: the Poetic concert Saturday March 22 in the Church of S. Pietro Martire (at 18.30 pm) where the programme will range from Monteverdi to the hits of Negramaro. The 29 March, instead, in the Hall of Mirrors of the Royal Palace of Monza, there will be the “pizzicato non pizzicato” concert of the pianist Edouard Ferlet, and the harpsichordist Violaine Cochard.closing event of the third edition of the Monza Music Meetings, instead, will be held in Monza Cathedral where, Monday 7 April, the Canova Orchestra conducted by Enrico Pagano, the soprano Barbara Massaro and the mezzo-soprano Benedetta Mazzetto will perform the Stabat Mater of Pergolesi and the Jesus' Blood Never Failed Me Yet by Englishman Gavin Bryars.
It continues with Visionary Monza, from 6 to 15 May. Scheduled concerts, nightlife, light installations and of sound in the spaces of the Royal Palace of Monza, of the Villoresi Theater and in the Churches of San Maurizio and Santa Maria al Carrobiolo. 12 events are scheduled for this long-awaited return. In addition to the Nocturnes at the Rose Garden and in the Royal Palace on May 9th and 10th, which offer shows with enchanting atmospheres every year, will be joined by an unprecedented silent disco in Avancorte Saturday 10th May. The concerts range from events of Royal Music to the appointments with international talents of Fabrizio Bosso e Thomas Ehnco. A major event on the program is RHAPSODY & BLUES (Gershwin, Queen & Dave Brubeck) on Wednesday, May 14 with Marco Mezquida piano, Badrya Razem solo voice and the Canova Orchestra conducted by Enrico Pagano. In July the artistic project will continue in the evocative spaces of the Reggia di Monza.
The summer festival “Monza Live Sound Festival”, in its third edition, which will take place every Friday in the month of July. The format, already tested, foresees the involvement of amateur bands emerging from all over Italy. During the five evenings the bands will perform in the different musical corners which will be set up both in the historic center of Monza and in the neighborhoods, to promote the involvement of all areas of the city. Considering the strong public response and the high request for participation by the bands recorded in the past edition, the goal is to increase the number of corners to be activated for the performances.
At the end of the summer break MusicAmonza 2025 will resume with the musical section included in the Park Festival, scheduled from 19 to 21 September and from 26 to 28 September.
The young talents of the “A Plan for the City”, now in its third edition, curated by the Rina Sala Gallo Cultural Association, who will collaborate with the musicians of the Canova Orchestra from 17 to 19 October.
Meanwhile, preparations are already underway for the 28th edition of the Monza International Piano Competition, which will be held in 2026.
