2,9 tons of pyrotechnic articles and over 147.000 dangerous products or products without the CE mark were seized.

In view of the approaching end-of-year holidays, the activity of the Yellow Flames of the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Monza Brianza which, already in recent days, within the framework of the constant economic control of the territory, had strengthened the action to combat the importation and sale of pyrotechnic devices and goods not compliant with the safety standards imposed by national and European Union legislation.

I Financial Police of the Economic and Financial Police Unit of Monza, following a targeted intelligence activity, have seized over 1.100 kilograms of fireworks at a maxi-emporium of Albiate, without a public safety license. In the warehouse, which lacked the required safety measures, the material was stored in quantities exceeding the legal limits, constituting a serious danger due to its proximity to the residential center.

Furthermore, the Finance Police found and seized 146.000 dangerous items, including Christmas decorations, toys, medical devices and personal care products, without the CE mark or counterfeit. Administrative documentation revealed that the seized products, imported from China, would have guaranteed a profit of over 200.000 € once placed on the market.

As part of the same measure, the Finance Police carried out further seizures:

  • 13,7 quintals of pyrotechnics at a wholesale business Monza, with the owner reported for lack of a public safety license and violations of accident prevention regulations.
  • 464 kilograms of fireworks stored without the required safety conditions, in a shop Bovisio Masciago.
  • Hundreds of counterfeit items, including clothing, footwear and accessories with fake luxury brands such as Prada, Chanel, Louis Vuitton e Nike, seized between Agrate e busnago.

During a check in the area of ​​the railway station Camnago, a narcotic substance (hashish and cocaine) was also found, with a complaint from a twenty-year-old resident in Barlow.

The operation is part of the annual Christmas security plan, promoted by the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Monza Brianza in collaboration with the Prefecture, to ensure compliance with regulations and the safety of citizens.
