On the evening of Tuesday 4 February 2025, the Carabinieri of the Radiomobile Section of the Desio Company they arrested in flagrant crime un 32 years old resident in Cesano Maderno, held responsible for production and possession for the purpose of dealing of narcotic substances e theft of electricity.

The intervention was triggered by a request to the Operations Center by the ex-partner of the man, who complained that the 32-year-old was preventing her from collect the last personal effects from home, after the end of their relationship.

The discovery of the clandestine greenhouse

Having entered the house, the Carabinieri they immediately warned a strong smell of marijuana, coming from a still smoking artisanal cigarette placed in an ashtray. On a piece of furniture, clearly visible, there was a plastic bag containing marijuana.

Following the house search, the military discovered the upper floor of the villa fifteen glass jars filled with marijuana, placed on the floor. In that room, the man had set up a wardrobe transformed into a handcrafted greenhouse, complete with air heating fan e sensors for detecting temperature and humidity. In addition, there was a Homemade grid for drying marijuana leaves.

In cellar in the basement, the Carabinieri found a a real laboratory for the cultivation and production of cannabis, equipped with:

• 20 powerful heat lamps turned on;
• an illegal electrical system with digital thermometer to monitor temperature and humidity;
• an automatic irrigation system;
• a large amount of drying marijuana, spread on a sheet.

Electricity theft and arrest

The intervention of the technicians of the electricity distribution company, who ascertained that the greenhouse was powered by an illegal connection to the public grid. In addition, the the house meter was stopped due to non-payment.

THElarge quantity of marijuana found, equal to over 2,8 kilograms, Was seized.

The man was arrested and held in a holding cell at the disposal of Public Prosecutor of the Monza Prosecutor's Office. After thedirect hearing, Judge validated the arrest and ordered pre-trial detention in prison.
