Modena: Local Police checks in the station area

The Modena Local Police carry out constant and periodic checks, even on their own initiative and in civilian clothes, in the area of ​​the railway station., where, in the square in front, a military garrison of the Safe Roads project has also been stationed for some weeks. In fact, the attention of the Institutions is high on the area in which there are several critical issues brought to the attention of the Public Order Committee on several occasions by the Municipal Administration.

During checks in civilian clothes, in which the Canine Unit also participated, on Thursday 13 February, the Local Police's Territorial Problems Unit also stopped and reported a woman for damage to a vehicle.

The officers were busy checking a report of unauthorized entry into a building belonging to the railway recreational club, in via Nicolò Dell'Abate, when, in the parking lot, they saw a woman with a truncheon-type stick in her hand hitting the left rear window of a parked car with such force that it shattered the glass. The operators immediately reached and blocked her. The stick, suitable for causing damage or injury to things or people, was seized. The woman, a 37-year-old with no criminal record, was reported for the crime of damage and illegal possession of a weapon. While being tracked down, the driver of the damaged car filed a complaint with the Local Police Headquarters for the damages suffered.

That same afternoon, local police officers identified five more people; 16 the previous week during similar checks conducted with the canine unit that uses the support of the drug-sniffing dog.
