He was behind the wheel of his Fiat Punto.

In via Livio Borri, in Modena east, he was stopped by local police officers during routine night-time road checks.

The driver, a thirty-year-old Ghanaian citizen with a valid residence permit, presented a Polish driving license which, following checks, was found to be false, while he appears to have never obtained a valid driving licence.

Thus, in addition to the administrative fine of 5.100 euros for driving without a licence, he was also charged for material falsehood committed by a private individual, a crime which can lead to a sentence of up to two years in prison.

In fact, we remind you that if driving without a license entails an administrative penalty, presenting a false document is a crime, with the related criminal consequences. There have already been several cases of foreign citizens who in recent months have exhibited falsified driving documents, but easily identifiable, probably obtained online.

Modena: era alla guida con una falsa patente polacca, denunciato dalla Polizia locale.
