Rome: Two female car thieves arrested, specializing in four-wheelers.

The State Police arrested two young Roman women found with electronic theft kits for keyless vehicles.

Rome: Two female car thieves, specializing in four-wheelers, arrested.

They had in tow a "Kit of the trade” complete with high-tech equipment to facilitate undisturbed access to vehicles equipped with the system keyless: thus, in a matter of seconds, they managed to bypass the signal emitted by the key, recording it on the device and gaining access to the passenger compartment. Then, equipped with control units, screwdrivers, and Allen keys, they unlocked the steering wheel and escaped undisturbed.

The two four-wheel specialists, both Romans aged 22 and 29, were arrested by the State Police on serious suspicion of aggravated theft.

What betrayed them was the location tracking application connected to the GPS installed in the vehicle by the owner, which triggered the alert as soon as the two started the car. The man, alerted by the alarm, immediately called 112 NUE for help reporting the theft and providing the real-time location of the car "taken" from the parking lot on Via Alessandrino.

Following the path traced by satellite monitoring, The Flying Squad's Hawks managed to anticipate the accomplices' moves, anticipating their arrival on Via Prenestina, where they intercepted the stolen Lancia Ypsilon followed by another small car.

Unaware of being followed, The two accomplices continued their march until they stopped in a parking lot on Via Fillia, where they found themselves surrounded by police.

Discoveries were seen, they had no choice but to admit their responsibilities.

The craft kit was hidden among the women's clothes and a hiding place made from the ignition block of the stolen car.

Accompanied to the Flying Squad offices for the necessary further information, Both were arrested for the crime of aggravated theft in competition.

The actions of the State Police were validated by the judicial authorities. The younger of the two, burdened by numerous specific precedents, was also hit by the precautionary measure of being required to reside in the Municipality of Rome.
