Messina Denaro arrest, gun found in the hideout in Vicolo San Vito.
In the hideout in Vicolo San Vito in Campobello di Mazara, last refuge of the boss Matteo Messina Denaro, the Carabinieri also found a “Smith & Wesson” 38 caliber special revolver pistol, complete with 5 cartridges.
The weapon, with canceled registration number, was found during a search. The mafia boss also kept 20 cartridges of the same caliber in his house.
The gun, delivered to the RIS for analysis, was loaded and hidden in the base of a kitchen cabinet which was completely dismantled. Technical investigations will reveal whether it was used for some of the murders accused of the boss.
