Taormina: He hid 50g of pure cocaine in his home, 40-year-old arrested

Continue theactivities to combat drug dealing activities by the Carabinieri of the Taormina Company who, within the framework of specific services set up throughout the territory of competence, have A 40-year-old from Catania, with a specific criminal record, was arrested and charged with possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing. The arrest was made last night by the Carabinieri of the Francavilla di Sicilia Station who stopped the man while he was on board a car in Giardini Naxos, in an area usually frequented by drug dealers and users. The impatience shown by the individual during the identification phases, induced the military of the Arma to deepen the checks and subject the arrested person to a search which resulted in a dose of cocaine being found on him.

The subsequent house search also allowed us to find and seize over 50 grams of pure cocaine and approximately 25 grams of marijuana hidden in a basement of the home used by the 40-year-old, as well as two precision scales and a kitchen knife soaked in drug residue, in addition to material presumably used for packaging. Once the checks are completed, the man was arrested and placed under house arrest at the disposal of the Judicial Authority. The seized narcotic, however, was handed over to the Carabinieri of the RIS of Messina for the relevant laboratory analysis.

The activities aimed at combating the spread of drugs will continue through similar activities aimed at dissuading criminals from committing crimes related to drug dealing, both through meetings in schools of all levels, functional to sharing the risks connected to the use of psychotropic substances, within the framework of the initiatives to spread the culture of legality promoted by the Carabinieri.
