3 young people arrested for a series of crimes in Sant'Agata di Militello, including: theft, resistance, damage and extortion
State Police and Carabinieri officers from S. Agata di Militello, as part of investigations specifically aimed at controlling the territory and coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Patti, have given execution of a custody order issued by the Preliminary Investigations Judge of Patti, Dr. Eugenio Aliquò, at the request of the same Prosecutor's Office, against three young individuals, residents of Sant'Agata di Militello.
Specifically, following investigations conducted by personnel of the State Police Station of S. Agata di Militello and the Carabinieri Company of S. Agata di Militello, a twenty-year-old man, seriously suspected, was the recipient of a house arrest custody order, with the obligation to wear an electronic bracelet, according to the evaluations of the Preliminary Investigation Judge, of a series of crimes against property and public order, all committed within a period of no more than two months (this person, pending the application of the electronic bracelet and the related checks, was subjected to the precautionary measure of detention in prison).
The young man was considered seriously suspected, first of all, of the crime of aggravated theft of a moped. regularly parked on the public road, committed in the early hours of 30.11.2024/XNUMX/XNUMX in S. Agata di Militello, together with two other individuals, in the process of being identified. The images captured by the surveillance cameras allowed his identification.
The subject was found, equally, seriously suspected of the crime of aggravated resistance committed against the staff of the State Police Station of S. Agata di Militello dated 24.12.2024/XNUMX/XNUMX, on the occasion of the arrest of his brother in flagrante delicto just carried out (the latter had been caught in possession, together with another person, of narcotic substances such as cocaine and hashish).
In particular, the suspect, once he learned of his brother's arrest, went, together with other individuals, to the headquarters of the State Police Station of S. Agata di Militello and he did not hesitate to hit the entrance door several times, he repeatedly tried to break it down, he punched the windows of the operations room of that office several times and he made serious death threats towards the Judicial Police officers, considered responsible for his brother's arrest., such as: “You all have to die, you bastards, pieces of shit, pieces of shit cops!”; “Open this door, open it or I'll kick it in, if you don't open I'll come back with my car and smash it!”; “I'll break you all, I'll kill you all, I'll slaughter you all!”; “I'll eat your heart!”.
The same individual was found to be seriously suspected of the crime of damage followed by aggravated arson. committed approximately one month later, in Sant'Agata di Militello, during the night hours of 22.1.2025, to the detriment of a recreational association. The suspect had been denied entry by the owners a few days earlier and so this person, in order to avenge the "affront" suffered, decided to sprinkle with flammable liquid the entrance door of the premises, located on the ground floor of a building also intended for residential use; in this way, he caused the entrance door of that establishment to catch fire; the flames also licked the electrical cables of the municipal public lighting.
Also in this case the images taken by the surveillance cameras allowed the identification of the suspect as the perpetrator of the act. (it should be noted that the subject, for this crime, has not been reached by a precautionary measure, since for the crime pursuant to art. 424 of the Criminal Code the relevant statutory limits of punishment do not allow the issuing of precautionary measures of any kind). The subject, finally, he was seriously suspected of the crime of continued and aggravated extortion, in conjunction with the other two individuals involved in the present proceedings (a thirty-six year old individual and a twenty-one year old girl); this crime was committed just two days after the above mentioned fire, in Rocca di Capri Leone, during the night hours between 23 and 24.1.2025, to the detriment of the owner of a bar – games room in that center.
According to the prosecution's statement, the three individuals, on that occasion, were the authors of a ferocious and unjustified punitive expedition against the commercial establishment and its owner. These, after entering the premises, having threatened the owner of the bar (“They can arrest me… even if I do 10 years, I don't give a shit… if I have to go through there and kill you and do another 50, I don't give a shit!”) and some customers (“you see, I’ll slap you in front of the Carabinieri! … tell the truth, because I’ll hit you with a bottle!”), after having beaten the latter with slaps, punches and kicks, as well as throwing chairs, a Bluetooth speaker, cues and billiard balls present inside the establishment at them, they demanded the free supply of alcoholic beverages.
As underlined by the Preliminary Investigation Judge, the subjects present in the premises witnessed the gratuitous aggressions in disbelief and could not understand the reasons why the arcade was destroyed, nor the reasons why they were beaten so brutally. The images captured by the internal surveillance cameras of the premises, as well as the statements of the injured parties, allowed the identification of the suspects as the perpetrators of the serious act. The Preliminary Investigation Judge underlined how the personality of these people, their obstinacy, the high dangerousness of their conduct, their stubbornness, make the danger of committing further crimes of the same kind serious and present.
