Over the weekend of January 18 and 19, the Carabinieri of the Milazzo Company have prepared a specific plan of checks and patrols, including during the night, aimed at ensuring the safety of citizens, with the aim of preventing and repressing any form of illegality, as well as verifying compliance with the rules of the Highway Code, with particular attention to the control of people who drive vehicles after having consumed alcoholic beverages.

During the patrol service of the Carabinieri of the Milazzo Company, They were 230 vehicles and 350 people were checked, with the challenge of several violations of the Highway Code, even for behaviors that seriously endanger the safety of motorists and pedestrians.
Following the irregularities reported, over 60 points were deducted from the driving licences of some offenders, while one vehicle was seized and two were placed under administrative detention.
With reference to crimes connected to road traffic, the military personnel of the Arma reported three people to the Judicial Authority: one was stopped at driving under the influence of alcohol and two others for refusing to undergo a breathalyser test and for the Driving under the influence of drugs.
Furthermore, six other people have been reported – under various titles – for illegal possession of weapons and objects capable of causing offence, one of which for illegal possession of firearm ammunition, and one for unjustified possession of altered keys and lock picks.
Another individual was reported by the military to the competent Judicial Authority for the alleged crime of illicit burning of waste.
While, regarding the activity of Business activity control, a 60-year-old owner of a butcher's shop in the Mamertine area was reported for possession of food in poor condition.
As part ofanti-drug activity, 9 young people between the ages of 14 and 28 have been reported to the Prefecture of Messina as drug users, since they were found in possession of small quantities of hashish e cocaine held for personal use, seized by the military and sent to the Carabinieri of the Scientific Investigations Department of Messina for the relevant laboratory analyses.
