Extraordinary Carabinieri Control in Milazzo: Fines, seizures and reports for illegality and road safety
The Carabinieri of the Milazzo Company have prepared a extraordinary service with checks and patrols, even during night hours, aimed at guaranteeing the safety of citizens, with the aim of preventing and repressing any form of illegality, as well as verifying compliance with the Highway Code, with particular attention to monitoring of people who drive vehicles after consuming alcoholic beverages. Over the course of the service, they were 150 vehicles and 270 people were checked, with the contestation of several violations of the Highway Code, also for conduct that seriously endangers the safety of motorists and pedestrians. Following the irregularities contested, 60 points were deducted from the licences of some offenders, while two vehicles were seized.
With reference to Road traffic related crimes, the military of the Arma have reported five people to the Judicial Authority: a was stopped at driving under the influence of alcohol, three: for having refused to submit to the test for driving under the influence of drugs, and another for driving without a license with repeat offence. Also others three people have been reported – in various capacities – for illegal possession of weapons and objects capable of causing offence, and theft of items subject to seizure.
While regarding the activity of Business activity control, the Carabinieri, assisted by the personnel of the ASP of Messina, have checked four commercial activities in the Mamertine area, reporting the owner of a shop of foodstuffs for the possession of food in poor condition, while others three people were administratively sanctioned, in various capacities, for possession of expired products, hygiene and health deficiencies, failure to apply pest control protocols, failure to activate the HCCP procedure and failure to trace food, for a total of over 26.000 euros.
As part ofanti-drug activity, 5 people aged between 17 and 36 years old, have been reported to the Prefecture of Messina as drug users, as they were found in possession of small quantities of hashish and marijuana held for personal use, seized by the military and sent to the Carabinieri of the RIS of Messina for the relevant laboratory analyses.
