Messina, the next events of the EPIC project.
The appointments with the project events continue EPIC (Performative Experiences of Civil Engagement), organized in Messina by Mana Chuma Teatro in partnership with Latitudes Network e Theater of the 3 Professions, with the aim of promoting live shows in peripheral urban areas.
Sunday 27 November at 18.00 pm la Church of Santa Maria Alemanna will host the show The magic of radio (Production Teatro del Pane and Centro Teatrale da Ponte) of Massimo Cirri, well-known radio host of the cult program "Caterpillar” by Radio2 e Mirko Artuso, who will be together on stage with the extraordinary participation of Salvatore Arena.
The radio is wireless, the radio does not ask us to get ugly on the sofa, the radio lives even in the dark, the radio is not intrusive.
With his unmistakable voice, capable of smiling and getting excited for us, Massimo Cirri ranges from the former Yugoslavia to New York, from Bertold Brecht to Linus up to Alto Gramento to construct a story that is at the same time a passionate chronicle of a life of work in radio.
The radio, that magical crossroads of encounters, which lives in the pure space of sound and escapes the tyranny of images to be a place of freedom, where music and words are still, to the core, themselves.
Wednesday 30 November and Thursday 1 December 21.00 hours il Theater of the 3 Professions will go on stage Calmaria (Mana Chuma Theater Production) Of Massimo Barilla, who also takes care of the direction together with Massimo Barilla. Protagonists on stage Stefania De Cola, Mariano Nieddu and Lorenzo Praticò.
A story of naive and stubborn resistance. A shaving salon in a small town in the late 70s. Two friends, Melo e Felice, organic to this environment in which they work, and one day, apparently like many others, immersed in the sultry heat of the sirocco. But on that endless day that will last until the next dawn, strange and unexpected signals accumulate: the always very busy hall remains empty, in a wait that becomes a space of discovery.
Melo's love for Giusy, Felice's sister. Her life in the shadow of Michele, an enigmatic emigrant husband. The increasingly frequent returns of the latter, with the story finally reaching a crossroads. The knots unravel between revelations and clarifications, disturbing scenarios that that room goes through, despite themselves.
This project, which will continue until the end of December 2022, is supported with the contribution of the Municipality of Messina and come on FUS funds (Single Entertainment Fund) of Ministry of Culture.
