Tursi: abused his elderly mother with constant harassment. 40-year-old removed from family home by Carabinieri.

In compliance with the rights of the person under investigation, the presumption of innocence and the necessary subsequent trial verification, the Carabinieri of the Policoro Company surprised, almost in the act of committing the crime, a 40-year-old local man who, for about a year, had been accustomed to mistreating the elderly cohabiting mother, subjecting her to constant harassment, insulting her, and using violence on things harming – even irreparably – some furniture and household goods in the house.

Due to the violent conduct of the son within the home, the Carabinieri, with the prior authorization of the Public Prosecutor of the Republic at the Court of Matera, in order to protect the victim, they removed the man from the family home, with a ban on approaching places frequented by the same, also proceeding with the precautionary withdrawal of legally held weapons, as the reliability of not abusing them ceases.

For the repressive activity carried out by the Carabinieri, under the direction of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Matera, it was the collaboration of the victim and other family members is essential, who have placed their total trust in the institutions.

The emergency decree was validated by the Preliminary Investigations Judge of the Court of Matera, with the consequent issuance of a similar precautionary measure, which is still ongoing.
