Policoro: extraordinary checks by the Carabinieri against drug dealing.

I continue extraordinary territorial control services carried out by the Carabinieri of the Policoro Company, further intensified during this holiday season. The aim is to repress drug-related crimes, especially in places where young people gather and meet.

As part of these checks, carried out in the afternoon and evening, Policoro, the Carabinieri of the local station and of the Company's Operational and Radiomobile Unit, with the support of a canine unit of the Carabinieri of Tito, noticed a 39-year-old local man passing through Salerno Avenue and Gonzaga Street. At the sight of the soldiers, the man showed an unjustified state of agitation.

The immediate check allowed us to discover in the man's backpack over 318 grams of heroin e 27 grams of marijuana divided into different packages. Subsequently, the search was extended to the arrested person's home, where, thanks to the drug-sniffing dog's nose “BLACKS”, further findings have been found 9 doses of heroin.

Having acquired serious indications of guilt for the hypothesis of the crime of possession of narcotic substances for the purpose of dealing, the man was arrested and, after the formal procedures, by order of the Public Prosecutor of the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Matera, he was transferred to the Matera County Jail. The Preliminary Investigations Judge of the Court of Matera, after having validated the arrest, agreeing with the prosecution's case, ordered the pre-trial detention in prison.

As part of the same service, the Carabinieri also reported at liberty:
