Policoro, 41-year-old arrested: nearly a kilo of drugs seized during a Carabinieri raid.

A new and incisive blow to drug dealing in the Ionian area of ​​Lucania. As part of the extraordinary controls of the territory, Carabinieri of the Policoro Company they arrested, in flagrante delicto, 41 year old non-EU citizen, held responsible for detention for the purposes of trafficking of various narcotic substances.

The operation began when the military of the Operational and Mobile Radio Unit, suspicious of some abnormal movements near a minimarket, they checked a customer found in possession of a dose of hashish.

The subsequent search, also carried out with the support of a drug-sniffing dog “Blacks” of the Tito Canine Unit, allowed to find it in the possession of the owner of the shop cocaine and hashish ready for sale.

The operation continued in the man's home, where the Carabinieri discovered a real drug cache, finding a total of:

• 98,06 grams of cocaine

• 877,00 grams of hashish

• 2,30 grams of marijuana

• 5.115 euros in cash, considered to be the proceeds of the illegal activity

• weighing and packaging material

A quantity sufficient, according to the investigators' hypothesis, to supply a vast local market, including a youth market.

After the usual formalities, the 41-year-old was transferred to the Matera Prison, at the direction of the Prosecutor's Office.
