Policoro: Carabinieri issue a restraining order for stalking a 43-year-old

The Carabinieri of the Policoro Company have notified a prohibition order against approaching the injured party against a 43 year old di Scanzano Jonico held responsible for stalking and attempted arbitrary exercise of her rights to the detriment of another local woman.

The suspect, with repeated conduct and for reasons related to the possession of a dog, allegedly insulted, seriously threatened and in any case harassed the victim by sending numerous text and voice messages via an instant messaging application, carrying out stakeouts under the home, thus causing the victim a serious and lasting state of anxiety and fear, forcing him to change his lifestyle habits.

Alarmed by the repeated threats, the victim turned to the Carabinieri of Policoro who, having promptly started the investigations, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Matera, collected serious evidence of guilt against the 43-year-old.

Therefore, the Preliminary Investigation Judge, agreeing with the investigative evidence brought to his attention by the Public Prosecutor, issued the precautionary measure, prohibiting the suspect from approaching the places frequented by the victim, with the application of control by electronic means (so-called "electronic bracelet").

It should be noted, however, that the investigations carried out so far are in the preliminary investigation phase and require subsequent procedural verification in cross-examination with the defense.

The collaboration of the victim, who placed her total trust in the institutions, was fundamental for the repressive activity carried out by the Carabinieri under the direction of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Matera.
