Ancona, checks on the territory: 1 suspect, 250 patrols to monitor the stations
Ancona, 1 person under investigation, 2.376 people checked, 250 patrols involved in the station, 56 services on board the train with 123 trains attended, 8 high fines: this is the balance of the activity of the Railway Police Department for the Marche, Umbria and Abruzzo, in the last week.
At the L'Aquila station, a 29-year-old Nigerian citizen was reported for failing to comply with the order to leave the national territory issued by the Police Commissioner of the Abruzzo capital.
Among the “proximity” interventions:
in Ancona, Railway Police personnel, on two separate occasions, tracked down two people who, in making themselves untraceable, had expressed suicidal intent. The first, an over eighty-year-old from the province of Monza - Brianza, was checked by Polfer officers in the ticket office hall of the train station and, after the necessary investigations, entrusted to the care of his family. The second, a 64-year-old, who escaped from the psychiatric ward of the Torrette regional hospital and was recognized by the Polfer staff thanks to the description issued by the local Police Headquarters, after having been assisted and reassured by the Officers, was taken over by the health workers of the 118 service.
