Roncoferraro: Attacks ex-girlfriend with hammer, smashing her skull, arrested for attempted murder
On the eve of Valentine's Day, the holiday par excellence for lovers, while couples are planning a romantic candlelit dinner sealing their eternal love, or a day spent at the spa, given that the weather forecast does not promise anything good, we are instead forced to talk about criminal love. And it is right to repeat it out loud: criminal love. It is just after 13 pm on a normal weekday. Monday, February 10. An SDA courier stops his van and makes a delivery in Roncoferraro. While he is returning to the vehicle, he receives a call for help from a woman who, with a bloody face, looks out of the window of her home and in a faint voice asks to call an ambulance.
The courier, a 55 year old resident of Mantua, calls 112 requesting the dispatch of medical personnel. Shortly after, an ambulance from 118 arrives and, after the first aid, transports him to the Emergency Room of the Mantua Hospital, a 38 year old woman originally from Morocco but resident in Roncoferraro for a long time, together with his two children aged 11 and 9. The patrol from the San Giorgio Bigarello Station initially arrived on site, and was then supported by the Roncoferraro Carabinieri and subsequently by the Operational Section of the Mantua Carabinieri Company and by the men from the Operational Department.
The woman is reached by the Carabinieri in the hospital, in order to collect the first testimonies. And it is she who provides the investigators with the name and surname of the perpetrator of the crime, or her ex-partner, a 40 year old compatriot resident in Mantua. Before being sedated by medical staff and then undergoing a delicate neurological operation, the victim reports that she was attacked by her ex who, armed with a hammer, allegedly hit her on the head about ten times, shattering her skull. The Arma investigators carry out an inspection of the crime scene. But they also reconstruct the movements of the alleged attacker, thanks to the cameras and license plate reading systems present throughout the province.
But to frame the alleged perpetrator of the despicable act there are also other witnesses, who saw the subject move away from the woman's house, after having massacred her with blows to the back of the head. The curriculum vitae of the alleged perpetrator is full of noteworthy episodes, with specific precedents of mistreatment and personal injuries, with convictions included.. The subject in question, just in the last few days, had been reported by the woman for stalking. The man had allegedly tried several times to enter the woman's home, showing up at various times of the day outside his beloved's house. Perhaps because he couldn't accept the end of their relationship. The victim had installed an external camera, precisely out of fear. And in a video recording the subject is seen while he is trying to make the camera unusable.
While the men of the Carabinieri divided up the investigative tasks, that is, those who carried out the technical surveys, those who reconstructed the past of the woman and the man, there were also investigators who were looking for the subject responsible, in the accusatory hypothesis, for attempted aggravated murder. The same was found in his home in Mantua, and taken to the offices of the Arma to then be declared under arrest. The home was placed under seizure. Traces of blood were found inside.
The Carabinieri, coordinated by the Deputy Public Prosecutor on duty, having collected incontrovertible evidence, carried out an arrest warrant for the suspect, taking into account the risk of escape and the dangerousness of the subject. The arrested man, once the formal procedures have been completed, he was associated with the prison of Mantua, available to the Judicial AuthorityThe victim is hospitalized and is currently still in danger of dying. The doctors, although optimistic, are waiting for the next few hours to see the evolution of the emergency surgery.
