The night of Thursday 31st October a man was identified and arrested from the Carabinieri of the Torre de' Picenardi Station immediately after committing a theft, probably with the help of an accomplice, at a pharmacy in Isola Dovarese. He is a 31-year-old, homeless, with a criminal record, also reported for the theft at the pharmacy in Casaloldo (MN) that occurred a few hours earlier.

At around 03.00:XNUMX, the Carabinieri operations center in Casalmaggiore received a request for intervention because loud noises had been heard coming from the Isola Dovarese pharmacy that could have led to the suspicion of a theft in progress. The patrol from the Torre de' Picenardi station immediately arrived on site, noting at a crossroads, near the pharmacy, a young man who had a hood over his head and a backpack on his shoulders and was dragging a bicycle and a small metal box.

At the sight of the company car he left his bicycle and his box and ran away, but was caught and stopped after a few meters. The man was very agitated and was held in the service car. In the meantime, other crews of the Arma arrived to support him. The man was searched and the metal box he had abandoned was also checked, which contained money stolen from the pharmacy because, as verified immediately afterwards by the Carabinieri, the man allegedly committed a theft inside that business.

In fact, the military have ascertained that the pharmacy had been closed regularly the previous evening. At around 03.00 the alarm went off because someone had entered the pharmacy and the owner had also seen, through her phone connected to the cameras, that inside the premises There was a man fiddling around near the self-service checkout.

She called the emergency number and, shortly after, she arrived on the scene, noticing the presence of the Carabinieri who had stopped a man and, on the street, the drawer of the automatic cash register of her pharmacy completely torn off. He then verified that the glass of the premises had been smashed using a cast iron manhole cover taken from the street.

The military called an ambulance which treated the 31-year-old for a slight wound to a finger reported following the facts, then they accompanied him to the barracks and found that the sum of money in the metal box amounted to 700 euros, which was immediately returned to the rightful owner. The 31-year-old was arrested for aggravated theft of Isola Dovarese and was held in the secure rooms of the Casalmaggiore barracks until the morning of October 31st when he was accompanied to the validation hearing.

The arrest was validated and the precautionary measure of custody in prison was ordered against him and the hearing was postponed to next November 6th.

During the inspection at the Isola Dovarese pharmacy the military also found that the man had lost a cell phone that was stolen from a pharmacy in Casaloldo (MN) where a theft had been committed shortly after 31:XNUMX AM, also in this case with the use of a manhole to break the glass. Consequently, the XNUMX-year-old was also reported for this theft.
