There is no more respect for the Catholic religion. Not even for the statue depicting the Madonna, mother of God.

A sacrilegious theft was perpetrated in the past few days in the municipality of Borgo Mantovano, in via Osti Frassine, in a votive shrine with a statue of the Virgin Mary of Valdirame, placed inside a glass case, in the open countryside.

In the past, anyone passing in front of the sacred image of the Madonna used to bow their head and, if religious and practicing, make the sign of the cross, symbol of Christianity. Today, however, we witness with amazement a plundering of the sacred image: unknown criminals, careless of the Catholic religion, thought of robbing the statue of the Madonna, stealing a gold crown from the sacred hands of the statue and stealing 2 silver rings and several rosary beads.

The damage, although of little value, deeply wounds those who believe in the Catholic religion.
We trust in the conscience of the thief so that, overcome by remorse of conscience, he will return those small stolen objects to the statue of the Madonna, repenting and perhaps reciting the prayer of the "Act of Contrition".

The Carabinieri of the San Giacomo delle Segnate station, called by a local citizen, had no choice but to draw up a report and begin the necessary investigations.
