Castiglione delle Stiviere: he drives around with a gun in his car and attacks the Carabinieri during a checkpoint, arrested

On the afternoon of February 6th, in Castiglione delle Stiviere, a call came to the emergency number 112 where it was the presence of two suspicious people reported near a commercial establishmentA patrol from the Castiglione delle Stiviere station intervened on site found an open car. The soldiers found inside a knife with a 20 cm blade, a multipurpose knife with a 10 cm blade and an air pistol without the red cap, Glok brand, model "Austria".

While the Carabinieri were searching the vehicle, two individuals arrived, one of whom turned out to be the owner of the vehicle.

The latter, a 22 year old from the nearby province of Verona, was not very cooperative towards the Carabinieri, taking on a rather aggressive and intimidating attitude towards the operators. Considering that tempers were rising, the Carabinieri requested the assistance of other patrols, in order to complete the control of the subjects. The 22-year-old, after a long and violent resistance, was stopped and arrested by the Carabinieri because he was responsible, according to the accusation, for the crimes of resisting, violence and injury to a public official.

The subsequent personal search allowed the soldiers to find, on the arrested person, 1,7 grams of “hashish”.

During the fight, a soldier was forced to seek medical care at the Emergency Room of the Civil Hospital of Castiglione DS following bruises to his knee, and was deemed curable in 5 days of prognosis.

After the formal procedures, the arrested man was taken to the Mantua District Prison, at the disposal of the Judicial Authority.
